Textile art by Mister Finch

Self-taught artist Mr. Finch creates animals and other objects that seem to stem from Alice’s Wonderland. Inspired by the rolling hills and mossy woods near his home in Yorkshire, Finch forms flowers, insects and birds that fascinate him with their amazing life cycles and extraordinary nests and behaviour.

He then goes hunting for vintage textiles – velvet curtains from an old hotel, a threadbare wedding dress or a vintage apron – and transforms them into all sorts of beasts and toadstools. According to Mr. Finch, his figures are “storytelling creatures for people who are also a little lost, found and forgotten”.

I was super excited to finally have coffee without having to add sugar or milk! Got recommended this gem of a cafe in Bangkok, at the Art and Culture Center called Gallery Art Cafe.
Tried their single origin from Chiang Mai and it was surprisingly delicious. Thumbs up to the Brew Master. You made my day!
Will update you on my trip to the land of Pad Thai in a couple of days! :D
In the mean time happy Halloween!

ow…

This is what being in my 30s feels like: flying off the swing without knowing when and how I’ll hit, but still kind of thrilled. 20s were swinging free. 40s will be hitting the ground. 50s will be buying a new, flashy swingset to try and swing on again…
